The Basic Course...
Compulsory basic training for all motorcycle
and moped riders was introduced in December 1990.
The training consists of classroom theory, riding around cones on
our off road training area and an accompanied on road session using
bike to bike radios for greater safety. Only when the instructor
is satisfied will the certificate of competence be issued.
The course is designed for you to become familiar with your machine
and enable you to gain experience safely.
All instruction is given by DSA Certified Motorcycle Instructors
and Cumbria Motorcycle Training is an Approved Training Body. This
course does not give sufficient training or knowledge to pass a
Part II road test.
If training is not completed in one session, further training is
free of charge until the required standard is reached and then the
instructor will happily validate the license by issuing the certificate
of competence (DL196)
Absolute Beginners..
Must include CBT and then either
lesson (4 hrs) or a course of one to five days depending on how
you are assessed by your instructor and how quickly you progress,
designed to help you pass quickly.
Bike Hire...
Bike hire of learner machinesis always available for training and
testing, includes insurance and fuel.
Previously Experienced...
Mostly on road training, may include
CBT as necessary and may be a couple of 4 hr training sessions or
a coarse depending on ability and aptitude.
All training is structured and tailored to suit your individual
needs, on 125 & 500cc machines.
If you are unsure of your standard, free assessments are available
everyday.
We will organise your Part II road test, leaving you to concentrate
on your training.
