More price reductions across the range

Follows recent pricing announcements in February and autumn 2025

Extension of 1.9% finance on GSX-S1000 and V-Strom 1050 range

5.9% finance available on the rest of its big bike lineup

Suzuki is continuing to deliver on its promise of bringing exceptional value to the market, with further price reductions across its range. Over the last 12 months Suzuki has cut the OTR prices of 13 models in its lineup, with the GSX-S1000GX+ reduced by a sizeable 2,900 over that time.

The GSX-S1000GT+ has had another 1,000 taken off its price taking its total price reduction over the last year to 2,000 dropping it to 11,999 OTR, with the GSX-S1000GX+ complete with its semi-active suspension, new winglets, and 36-litre panniers is just 12,999.

Suzukis GSX-8T and GSX-8TT retros built on the firms award-winning new 800cc platform have seen 1,000 cut from their prices, dropping them to 8,599 and 8,999 respectively.

Theres good news for learner riders or those looking for commuting solutions in the city, with the GSX-S and GSX-R125 machines both now 3,999, a reduction of 1,000 and 1,200.

The reductions follow the announcement of Suzukis recent pricing realignment of its scooter range, with the retro-styled Address 125 only 2,099, which represents exceptional value, especially with the addition of Suzukis 10-year-warranty. Suzuki also recently lowered the prices of its 800RE and 800DE V-Stroms, which are now 9,499 and 9,999.

Over the last year Suzuki has also lowered the prices of its GSX-S1000, Katana, Burgman Street 125EX, and Avenis 125.

Suzuki GB head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin, said, Over the last year weve been listening closely to our dealer partners and working in conjunction with our colleagues in Japan to realign pricing across a number of models in the range. Our recent price changes reaffirm our commitment to providing value for customers, and will allow more riders to experience the quality, performance, and fun that Suzuki is synonymous with. Add to that our reputation for bullet-proof reliability and a 10-year-warranty scheme, and an extensive dealer support network, and I think its hard to find another brand that can compete with the claim that Suzuki is offering the most value for customers on the market right now.

As well as the savings on the list prices of a number of models in the range, Suzuki GB has also announced the extension of its low-rate, 1.9% APR finance deal, which is available over four years with a minimum 1,000 deposit, on both PCP and HP agreements.

As part of the offer, the 10,999 GSX-S1000 can be had for 95 per month on a four-year PCP deal, with a 1,971.20 deposit. Also included are the V-Strom 1050RE and 1050DE machines.

On every other model over 400cc Suzuki is offering 5.9% APR finance over three years with a minimum 1,000 deposit.

    <title>Suzuki reveals SV-7GX at Eicma</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/suzuki-reveals-sv-7gx-at-eicma</link>
    <description>
Suzuki has revealed a new SV-7GX, which was unveiled today at Eicma in Milan, Italy. The covers were also pulled off an updated GSX-S1000GX.

The SV-7GX uses an updated version of Suzukis proven and somewhat legendary 645cc V-twin engine, which is now fully-compliant with the latest Euro5+ emissions regulations. Peak power is 73PS and peak torque is 64Nm. Aiding efficiency and performance is a new magneto, transmission gears, airbox, a ride-by-wire throttle, and a new exhaust system.

    <title>Suzuki releases updated Address 125 scooter</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/suzuki-releases-updated-address-125-scooter</link>
    <description>
Suzuki GB has announced the release of an updated Address 125 scooter, with a revised engine that produces more peak torque lower down the rev range, courtesy of changes to its camshaft profile and airbox. Theres also a revised frame, which is lighter, new wheels, and a new fuel tank that is both larger and lighter. Practicality is further boosted by an increase in underseat storage space.

Though the bodywork has been restyled, the Address 125 continues to embody classic scooter design. At its heart remains Suzukis Eco Performance engine (SEP), which has a proven track record for both performance and reliability, and already powers over seven million Suzuki scooters, globally.

The newest version meets the latest Euro 5+ emissions standards, achieving 148.6mpg, emitting just 45 g/km of CO. Peak torque increases to 10.2Nm and is now made at 5,000rpm, compared to 10Nm at 5,500rpm on the previous model and peak power is 8.4PS, made 250rpm further down the rev range than before, at 6,500rpm, resulting in punchier acceleration performance.

Changes to the camshaft profile improve combustion efficiency and engine performance. Specifically, the intake cam lifts higher to increase the amount of air intake, while the exhaust cam timing was adjusted to minimise overlap. The airbox capacity has also increased 10%, and one of the two exhaust catalytic converters has been eliminated.

Further measures to improve fuel efficiency include the adoption of an electromagnetic steel plate for the stator core, a change in the fuel injector mounting angle, modification of the CVT settings, and a lower idling rpm. The engine starts up more quietly thanks to the change from an overrunning clutch to a roller type one-way clutch, and the crankshaft was revised to accommodate this change.

An updated underbone frame is 1kg lighter than the previous version, and increases torsional rigidity by 25%. The result is contribution to excellent fuel economy, stability, and cornering performance. The modifications to the frame which also saw the rear suspension pivot point moved higher and further back also enabled other improvements, such as a larger under seat storage compartment, a larger airbox, and a bigger fuel tank. Despite increasing capacity from five to 5.3 litres, the new fuel tank is 25% lighter.

A combined braking system sees braking force distributed to both the front and rear wheels with a 190mm disc at the front and a 120mm drum at the rear when the left brake lever is operated.

Rider and pillion comfort is improved via a new seat and new pillion footpegs which are lighter and 15mm longer. Theres a wide, spacious floorboard for riders to adjust their feet position, and a new steel leg shield extends further to offer protection in case of a drop. Theres also a steel front mudguard.

The unique tail-mounted fuel cap of the previous model remains, but is now concealed via a colour-coded cap, which opens with the ignition key.

Underseat storage space is increased from 21.8 litres to 24.4 litres, and a second inner storage pocket has been added up front, with one housing a USB charging port, and there are two utility hooks to hang bags and two helmet hooks under the seat.

A sidestand and centre stand are standard equipment, and standard security features include a shutter that covers the ignition key hole that is opened by a magnet mechanism coded to the owners key.

Still wearing classic scooter styling, the rectangular headlight has been reshaped and boasts a classy chrome surround, and a new LED, U-shaped position light sits centrally below the Suzuki emblem, and is flanked by two additional LED position lights with integrated indicators. Theres also a U-shaped, LED rear taillight.

The 2026 Address 125 comes in Metallic Matt Stellar Blue, Pearl Grace White, and Metallic Matt Black No.2. It is available now with an OTR price of 2,599.

    <title>The GSX-R1000R Returns</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/the-gsx-r1000r-returns</link>
    <description>
Suzuki has announced that the GSX-R1000R will return to the UK. Designed to perform, built to thrill, the GSX-R1000R gets an updated engine to meet Euro5+ regulations whilst maintaining high levels of performance output. Changes include a new crankshaft, crankcases, pistons, connecting rods, and a higher compression ratio. Theres also a new exhaust, an updated suite of electronics, and winglets that increase downforce at higher speeds.

Despite a number of changes made to satisfy the latest emissions standards, the updates to the engine also enhance the GSX-R1000Rs performance potential, making it capable of withstanding the tuning required to compete successfully in premier class endurance, superbike, and superstock racing competitions.

The announcement comes ahead of the prestigious Suzuka 8-Hour endurance race in Japan and the third round of the 2025 FIM Endurance World Championship, a championship that the GSX-R1000 has won 15 times since 2001. The announcement also comes as part of this years 40th anniversary celebrations of the GSX-R range, when the GSX-R750F changed the world of sportsbikes forever in 1985. As a result, the GSX-R1000R will come in a trio of colour schemes inspired by classic GSX-R liveries of the past, each adorned with a 40th anniversary logo on the fairing and fuel tank.

        Engine

The GSX-R1000Rs 1000cc, inline four-cylinder engine still uses Suzukis MotoGP-developed variable valve timing system. Developed on the firms GSX-RR prototype racer, which won the 2020 MotoGP world championship, the mechanical system is built into the intake cam sprocket and an adjacent guide plate. It uses 12 steel balls and slanted grooves to rotate the sprocket and retard the intake valve timing at a pre-set rpm, boosting high-rpm power without sacrificing midrange and lower-rpm output. It also retains a finger follower valve train, though the shape of the fingers on both the intake and exhaust sides were changed and optimised to match the new cam profile. In addition, the exhaust valve diameter was changed from 24mm to 25mm, plus there are new camshafts and a wider cam chain. Maximum valve lift remains the same, with reduced overlap to help meet emissions targets.

Theres a new fuel pump to increase fuel pressure, and changes to the fuel injectors, with the secondary top feed injector changing from 10 to eight holes to contribute to cleaner emissions. To help maintain power output, new throttle bodies boast a larger bore; up to 48mm from 46mm, while air delivered to the throttle bodies travels through newly designed single-stage funnels, further boosting peak power.

New, forged aluminium pistons have short skirts, cutaway sides and a short, DLC-coated wrist pin to reduce friction. The piston heads were reshaped to increase the compression ratio to 13.8:1 and accommodate the size of the increased exhaust valve diameter. The new pistons contribute to power output, reduced vibration, and durability.

The connecting rods are chrome-molybdenum steel with a carburised surface treatment to increase strength and are designed to enhance reliability when under higher levels of tune for racing.

The crankshaft adopts a new design with thicker journals, increased from 35mm to 37mm, designed to accommodate higher loads and withstand higher levels of tune in racing environments, plus new crankcases were designed in conjunction with the new crankshaft.

As well as being highly attractive and etched with a GSX-R logo, the new exhaust silencer body is more compact, reducing its capacity from 8.3 to 5.5 liters. A larger capacity elliptical catalytic converter in the collector is positioned closer to the engine to facilitate quicker warming, which helps improve its performance.

Peak power is 195PS at 13,200rpm, with peak torque 110.0Nm at 11,000rpm.

        Chassis

The new GSX-R1000R uses the same lightweight twin-spar aluminium frame, subframe, and braced aluminium swingarm as the previous version. Suspension comes courtesy of Showa, with its balance free front forks at the front, and a balance free rear shock at the rear, and theres an electronically-controlled steering damper.

At the front, brakes are Brembo monoblock calipers, biting 320mm discs. At the rear sits a single caliper and 220m disc. Theres also a new ABS unit that saves 51 grams over the previous version GSX-R1000R. Lightweight cast aluminium wheels wear Bridgestone BATTLAX RACING STREET RS11 tyres: 120/70ZR17M/ at the front, 190/55ZR17M/C at the rear.

Developed in conjunction with the Suzuki CN Challenge race team, which contested the 2024 Suzuka 8-Hour with an experimental GSX-R1000R, new winglets provide increased downforce at higher speeds, aiding stability and reducing wheelie. Produced in Japan, they are made of dry carbon with a hollow structure, and the size and shape of the winglets were developed through a long process of experimental builds and thorough test runs to achieve the optimum effect without making handling feel heavy.

        Electronics

An updated suite of electronics further enhances the GSX-R1000Rs performance potential and allows riders to tailor its character to suit their preferences or riding conditions. Armed with a six direction IMU, the GSX-R1000R gets an updated traction control system that incorporates Suzukis new Roll Torque Control and anti-wheelie, with 10 modes to choose from plus the ability to disengage entirely.

Suzukis Roll Torque Control uses data from the IMU and wheel speed sensors to calculate the bikes lean angle and speed to predetermine what level of power output is optimal. It works in conjunction with the traction control to deliver a sense of stability through the corner. Its benefit is that it works to prevent wheel spin, rather than activate when slip is detected, making for more seamless acceleration and the reduced cutting of power and pumping.

Theres a ride-by-wire throttle, bi-directional quickshifter, lean angle-sensitive ABS and slope-dependent control, launch control, low RPM assist, and Suzukis easy start function.

A new Li-ion HY battEliiy P-series starter battery is more compact and lightweight, and is designed with a focus on exceptional reliability, durability, enhanced startability, and an extended lifespan.

<title>Suzuki launches new retro models: GSX-8T and GSX-8TT</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/suzuki-launches-new-retro-modelsgsx-8t-and-gsx-8tt</link>
    <description>
Suzuki has launched two brand-new models on its award-winning 800cc platform, with the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT combining retro spirit with next generation performance. The 8T takes styling cues from classic bikes of the 1960s and 1970s, such as the iconic Suzuki T500, while the 8TT builds on that platform further but with inspiration coming from the faired race bikes of the period, such as the legendary Yoshimura GS1000 AMA superbike.

Both models use Suzukis 776cc parallel twin engine with its 270 crankshaft design, which gives it unrivalled drive and lowdown power, while double overhead cams and four valves per cylinder enable a free-revving nature.

The engine is housed in a twin-spar steel frame with a separate lightweight subframe. An electronics suite comprises traction control, power modes, a bi-directional quickshifter, and colour TFT screen.

Both the 8T and 8TT get a new fuel tank, seat, seat unit, and handlebars complete with bar-end mirrors.

The 8T adopts a new round headlight with full LED lighting, blending modern technology with classic styling. The 8TT adds a headlight cowling that shares more than a passing resemblance to vintage road race machinery from the 70s and 80s.

Design
The 8T and 8TTs design brief was to produce two machines that embody the retro spirit of Suzukis heritage and iconic models of past decades. Drawn by designers in Italy and further sculpted in Japan, both models use a new 16.5-litre fuel tank, which connects each side to new radiator shrouds brushed silver on the 8T and black on the 8TT adorned with the circular GSX8 logo.

The 8T evokes the charm of classic bikes, and a new circular headlight design with a flat bottom section is further reminiscent of motorcycles of the 70s and 80s, though it is full-LED with a bright, horizontal LED strip across the middle.

Inspired by classic road race machines, the 8TT retains the same headlight unit as its 8T stablemate but wraps it in a cowling that bears a striking resemblance to the GS1000S of the late 1970s. It is fitted with a screen that further completes the look, as well as providing the functional benefit of added weather protection.

New circular bar-end mirrors ensure a sleek and low profile. Their design was refined to ensure visual harmony with the overall silhouette, and special attention was paid to detail, including hand-polishing the parting lines and gate marks of the aluminium die-cast stays. The mirrors offer excellent rearward visibility by minimising interference from the riders body.

Underneath the 776cc parallel twin engine, the 8TT also adopts a lower cowling, further enhancing its racier aesthetic.

A new seat, inspired by the tuck-and-roll seats of the 1960s and 70s slots onto the top of the subframe of the 8T. It features high-density foam cushioning for enhanced comfort and a premium riding experience. Additionally, the shape of the seat front improves ease of mounting and dismounting and provides excellent foot reach.

On the 8TT the seat still ensures a comfortable ride but is finished with a flatter top more reminiscent of race bike seats.

With a matt finish to its black seat unit, brushed radiator shrouds, gold forks, and black wheels, the GSX-8T will be available with a Candy Burnt Gold, Metallic Matt Steel Green, or Metallic Matt Black fuel tank.

The 8TT adds more pops of colour and retro racing flair thanks to striped decals on its tank and cowling, with matching wheels. A Glass Sparkle Black variant is offset by red wheels and red and gold decals, while a Pearl Matt Shadow Green version is completed with gold wheels and gold and bronze stripes.

        Engine
While retro spirit comes from the styling of the 8T and 8TT, next generation performance is delivered by Suzukis award-winning 776cc parallel twin engine; widely praised for its drive from the bottom end and through its midrange, making it a useable, flexible, and fun powerplant. This character and punchy performance is enhanced by a 270 crankshaft design, helping fire the 8T and 8TT from corner to corner. Peak torque is 78Nm at 6800rpm, and peak power comes in at 82.9PS at 8500rpm.

A cross balancer reduces vibrations and aids in the motors compact design, and a short exhaust muffler keeps the bikes side profile clean and compact while still providing an exciting exhaust note.

Chassis
Both models use the same steel frame and subframe, and aluminium swingarm. They are suspended by upside down KYB forks gold on the 8T and black on the 8TT and a KYB rear shock. Wide, tapered aluminium handlebars provide an engaging and comfortable riding position, offering plenty of leverage for steering input. Stopping power comes via twin 310mm discs up front with radially-mounted Nissin calipers, and a 240mm disc at the rear.

Electronics
Sat atop the retro headlight is a fully-modern colour TFT screen, displaying all the information the rider needs, including rev counter, speedo, and gear position indicator, as well as the selected traction control setting with three available to choose from, plus off and the chosen power mode from A, B, or C. Making for slick gear changes is a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, plus Suzukis easy-start and low RPM assist systems.

Both models also come with a USB Type-C socket as standard, which also supports fast charging.

Developed by Eliiy Power using advanced energy storage technology, a new, compact, lightweight battery offers reliability, durability, enhanced startability, and long life with minimal self-discharge.

Pricing and availability
The GSX-8T and GSX-8TT will come with an OTR price of 9,599 and 9,999 respectively and will be arriving in dealerships in the coming weeks. Both come with Suzukis standard three-year warranty plus up to seven-years extended warranty, activated by regular servicing at an authorised Suzuki dealership.

<title>Pricing announced for new Suzuki DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/pricing-announced-for-new-suzuki-dr-z4s-and-dr-z4sm</link>
    <description>
Suzuki GB has announced pricing for the new DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM models, which were revealed at Eicma last year. Both the dual-purpose trail bike, the DR-Z4S, and its supermoto stablemate, the DR-Z4SM, will come with an OTR price of 7,999.

Both bikes use a new 398cc single-cylinder engine and a new twin-spar steel frame with a separate, bolt-on aluminium subframe and aluminium swingarm. The DR-Z4S sports 21 and 18 spoked wheels and long-travel suspension from KYB, with 280mm of fork travel, 296mm of rear wheel travel, and 300mm of ground clearance. The SM is equipped with 17 wheels and has 260mm of front suspension travel and 277mm rear wheel travel.

An electronics package comprises three power modes and two standard traction control modes, a tailored off-road traction control setting, plus the ability to disengage the system entirely. Theres also the ability to disengage the ABS at the rear or at both ends on the 4S, for more control off-road, and at the rear of the 4SM.

Both models channel RM-Z-inspired styling, with the DR-Z4S available in Suzukis trademark off-road yellow as well as dark grey, while the 4SM comes in white and a new blue/grey livery, dubbed Sky Grey.

When the bikes arrive in dealerships at the end of the summer buyers will benefit from Suzukis standard three-year warranty and can enjoy the extended seven-year service activated warranty if they have their DR-Z serviced at an authorised Suzuki dealership.

Suzuki GBs head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin, said, These may be spiritual successors to the DR-Z400S and DR-Z400SM, and they take everything that made those bikes so popular such as their robustness and reliability but they build on that foundation and reputation with a brand-new chassis and a new version of our 400cc single cylinder engine.

Delivering superior levels of performance in their respective categories was our aim; for instance, ensuring the DR-Z4S is equipped with a suspension package that can take on the roughest of trails and will perform for an experienced rider off-road, while also remaining friendly for a newer rider. Engine capacity remains the same as the previous DR-Z models, but cumulative torque is improved, which in turn gives a linear throttle response and predictable power delivery, important for negotiating tougher trails or picking up the throttle out of corners on the track.

Were looking forward to seeing them in dealerships and are sure buyers or those taking a test ride will feel the high quality, impressive performance, but also our commitment to providing value.

Both models come with Suzukis standard three-year manufacturer warranty and are eligible for Suzukis extended seven-year warranty through regular servicing.

    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/colour-updates-for-suzukis-burgman-400</link>
    <description>
Suzuki has released a trio of colour updates for the Burgman 400, the original maxi-scooter.

An effortlessly classy pearl matt shadow green is enhanced by gold wheels and black trim. The same gold wheels also standout on an otherwise-understated all-black version. The third paint scheme added to the Burgman 400 lineup is a metallic reflective blue, also equipped with the gold wheels.

First launched in 1998 and in production ever since, the current Burgman 400 is equipped with a punchy single-cylinder engine capable of returning over 70mpg*.

Convenience comes from 42-litres of under-seat storage and a combined 6.3-litres of storage space with two additional compartments at the front. A traction control system keeps things in check on slippery or wet surfaces.

The Burgman 400 comes with an OTR price of 7,199.

    <description>
Suzuki has unveiled a trio of new colour options for its famed Hayabusa, and two new versions of its retro Katana.

Availablenow, the legendary hyperbike comes in a new Metallic Matt Steel Green with black trim and a fresh silver option with standout blue details. For those seeking a more understated look, a revised black paint scheme is complemented with silver trim.

The third generation of Hayabusa provides more cumulative torque than any generation previously, with its silky smooth 1340cc, inline four-cylinder engine providing relentless torque from the bottom of its rev range.

Lean angle-sensitive electronics comprise selectable power and traction control modes, varying levels of anti-wheelie and engine braking settings, plus cruise and launch control and a bi-directional quickshifter.

All rider information is displayed via a neat colour TFT screen, nestled between two large, sweeping dials paying homage to the original, genre-defining machine from 1999.

For 2025 the Katana comes in a revised version of its iconic silver paint scheme, with a contrasting dark blue seat unit, offset with gold wheels. It is joined by a new Pearl Vigor Blue with bronze wheels.

<title>All-new DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM set to bring the fun in 2025</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/all-new-dr-z4s-and-dr-z4sm-set-to-bring-the-fun-in-2025</link>
    <description>
Suzuki has revealed all-new DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM models, with the covers pulled off the dual sport and supermoto machines today, November 5, at Eicma in Milan, Italy.

Spiritual successors to the popular DR-Z400S and DR-Z400SM models of the noughties, the two fresh 400s use a new twin-spar steel frame with a separate, bolt-on aluminium subframe and aluminium swingarm, housing a new 398cc single-cylinder engine. Theres also an electronics package that includes power modes, switchable ABS, and a sophisticated traction control system with off-road modes.

Designed to bring the fun to whatever environment, they promise to make Your World, Your Playground.

        Engine

Powering both the DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM is a new 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC four-stroke engine. The new engine was designed to meet Euro 5B, while maintaining the reputation of robustness and reliability the engine found in the previous generation DR-Z400 was famed for. It provides a smooth, linear power delivery with stronger torque at lower rpm and increased power output to the rev limit, plus improved fuel economy.

When compared to the previous DR-Z400 engine, there are changes to almost every aspect, from lightweight titanium intake valves and hollow, sodium-filled exhaust valves to new cam profiles and piston. A new cylinder head is equipped with twin spark plugs, there are new crankcases, and a new slipper clutch with Suzukis Clutch Assist System.

Fuelling comes courtesy of a ride-by-wire, 42mm bore, electronic throttle body and a 10-hole fuel injector. Theres a new air box, and a new exhaust. The result is a broader spread of power across the rev range, strong drive yet smooth ride, a direct, linear throttle response, and improved fuel economy.

Peak power is 38PS at 8,000rpm, with a peak torque figure of 37Nm at 6,500rpm. Both achieve over 80mpg.

        Electronics

Both models use a package of carefully selected, ride-enhancing electronic aids; the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System.

Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) means riders can choose from one of three power modes. Each mode reaches the same peak power output, with A the most direct, delivering the full amount of low-down torque available from the 398cc single-cylinder engine. Modes B and C are progressively softer, allowing riders to dial back the initial power delivery to suit in slippery or low grip conditions.

There are two standard traction control modes on both, with each also equipped with its own specific G (gravel) mode. G mode aims to maintain maximum off-road performance by allowing a certain amount of wheel spin. G modes level intervention is set slower than for the traction control systems other two standard modes, and the maximum level of intervention is also set lower, too. This provides the right balance between preventing excessive wheel spin on slippery surfaces and minimising power loss on surfaces with traction, making the bike easier to control.

On the DR-4S it focuses on enabling riders to enjoy off-road riding with confidence. It does so by adopting an updated version of the system when compared with the application on the V-Strom 1050DE and V-Strom 800DE, by being effective not only on flat surfaces but also on undulating terrain and inclines. On DR-Z4SM it is tailored more towards flat-dirt surfaces, while allowing a little more slip tolerance than on the V-Strom DEs. Allowing more spin lets the rider better tap into the models supermoto character.

Further enabling greater control off-road is an ABS system that riders can tailor to their needs and riding conditions. On the DR-Z4S riders can disengage the ABS at the rear, or at the front and rear. On the DR-Z4SM, riders can disengage the rear ABS.

Theres also Suzukis easy-start system, which means the engine fires up with one press of the starter button, and theres no need to pull the clutch lever when starting in neutral.

All rider information is displayed via a compact LCD dash.

        Chassis

A brand new, twin-spar steel frame was developed for the new DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM. It is mated to a new aluminium subframe and an aluminium swingarm. Like the engine, it was designed to build on the previous models reputation for precise, agile handling and easy manoeuvrability. The new chassis is rigid, yet supple, meaning it can absorb impact and bumps on rougher terrain, and reduce rider fatigue.

Long-travel suspension on both the DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM comes from KYB, specifically tuned for each models intended application. There is 280mm of front fork travel and 296mm of rear wheel travel on the DR-Z4S, while the DR-Z4SM has 260mm of front suspension travel and 277mm of rear wheel travel. Both have compression and rebound damping adjustment at the front and rear. Theres also preload adjustment on the rear shock.

Wheels are wire-spoked on both. The DR-Z4S is fitted with a 21 front and 18 rear, compared to the 17 rims in the DR-Z4SM. IRC GP-410, dual purpose, tubed tyres are standard on the S, while the SM is shod with Dunlop SPORTMAX Q5A tyres.

There are disc brakes all round, and the tapered aluminium handlebars are equipped with half-waffle grips which distribute pressure across the palms and make the grips easier to hold, aiding control and greatly reducing rider fatigue. Foot pegs are wide and solid, providing sure-footing and a robustness to withstand impacts off-road. Theres also an aluminium under guard as standard.

Ground clearance comes in at a useful 300mm on the DR-Z4S, and 260mm on the DR-Z4SM. Seat heights are 920mm and 890mm and they weigh 151kg and 154kg, respectively.

        Styling

Taking design cues from Suzukis RM-Z range, the new DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM are designed to emphasise agile performance with a linear connection from front to rear. The focus was on establishing a bold horizontal line along the sides that cuts right from the front fender through to the tail.

Ergonomics also played a key role in the new design, and the DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM are crafted as to not interfere in any way with the rider and their movement.

Lighting all-round is LED, from the single assembly headlight, rear combination lights, and indicators.

The DR-Z4S is available in Suzukis signature off-road Champion Yellow, and Solid Iron Grey, both with black rims. The DR-Z4SM comes in a new blue/grey colour scheme, dubbed Sky Grey, plus a Solid Special White, equipped with blue rims.

The DR-Z decals on each side of the cowling, in front of the engine, are modern and simple. Following the horizontal line along the cowling, these decals feature a colourful gradation below the lettering that reflects the modern image of the DR-Z.

A range of accessories is also available, which includes items such as hand guards, a lower seat, and a rear carrier rack.

Pricing and availability

Pricing for the new DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM will be confirmed in the New Year, with arrival set for summer, 2025.

The award makes it two awards in two years for Suzukis 776cc parallel twin engine platform, which has won favour with press and customers alike thanks to its punchy power delivery and flexibility.

The GSX-8R was heralded as a sublime bit of kit by the world famous motorcycling newspaper, and praised for being cracking fun to ride and for being living proof that sportsbikes can be fun, comfortable and capable, without breaking the bank, as it blends sportiness with everyday usability.

Jak Tyrrell, Suzuki GBs senior motorcycle marketing manager, said after collecting the award, Its obviously really pleasing to see the 8R recognised as the great bike it is, but, for us, its also great to see that our latest engine platform is clearly a leading light in the middleweight category, with two MCN awards in two years. The GSX-8R really captured imaginations when it was revealed, and has clearly delivered on its promise to be a sportsbike accessible for all riders.

The GSX-8R houses its 776cc engine inside a brand new chassis, with suspension from Showa, including the firms SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork Big Piston) at the front. Radially-mounted Nissin four-piston calipers provide the stopping power.

An electronics package features a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, three power modes, and three traction control settings, with all information displayed via a colour TFT screen.

<title>Suzuki GB confirms recall campaign for rear tyre defect on V-Strom 800DE</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/suzuki-gb-confirms-recall-campaign-for-rear-tyre-defect-on-v-strom-800de</link>
    <description>
Suzuki GB has confirmed a recall campaign on its V-Strom 800DE, due to a defect with the OE fitment rear tyre. There are 304 affected machines registered in the UK.

Customer safety and satisfaction is Suzuki GBs utmost priority, and owners of affected units will be contacted from today [Friday 26 July] and directed to cease riding activity until replacement tyres have been fitted by an authorised Suzuki dealership.

Owners of affected models still equipped with the OE tyres will be able to have their motorcycle collected by their local Suzuki dealership, which will then fit a pair of replacement tyres and return the motorcycle to the customer, allowing them to continue using their machine.

In instances where owners have already replaced their OE tyres they will be advised to contact Suzuki GB customer services. Suzuki GB will reimburse them for their outlay on tyres and fitting.

Due to the defective rear tyre Suzuki GB is temporarily unable to register any new V-Strom 800DE models. To maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and to reduce the impact on customers, those that have already placed an order for a new machine will be offered a courtesy bike in the interim period, until the recall work has been completed.

In all instances, all appropriate costs will be borne by Suzuki GB.

The V-Strom 1050DE is unaffected.

<title>Suzuki set to celebrate a quarter of a century of legends at Suzuki Live</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/suzuki-set-to-celebrate-a-quarter-of-a-century-of-legends-at-suzuki-live</link>
    <description>
2024 marks the 25th anniversary of both the legendary Hayabusa and the cult classic SV650. Both launched in 1999 to do very different jobs, their birthdays will be celebrated at Suzuki Live, which takes place at Cadwell Park on 22-23 June.

Suzuki is inviting owners to bring their bikes along to the event, with dedicated parking and display areas in the paddock reserved for Busas and SVs.

The show-and-shine style display areas will be sponsored by Dunlop, with a free pair of tyres up for grabs for the owners of the best examples on display.

The Hayabusa and SV650 feature areas will form part of a wide range of paddock displays at the event. Suzuki will showcase its current lineup and models from its vintage fleet, there will be a number of Team Classic Suzuki race bikes on display, plus stands from the likes of the Air-Cooled Suzuki Club, the Kettle Club, and the Suzuki Owners Club. Dunlop will have staff on hand to talk tyres and tyre pressures for those riding on circuit, and Furygan will display its latest safety kit.

When the track action stops the evening show begins, with live music from The High Rollers, talk shows featuring VIPs such as John Reynolds, Steve Parrish, and Danny Webb, as well as tech talks from Dunlop and Furygan. Food and drink will be available from a variety of on-site vendors.

Over the two days there will be track sessions for Suzukis old and new, with sessions scheduled for everything from classic RGs and RGVs to modern GSX-Rs and GSX-Ss. There will also be a host of bikes available to test ride on the surrounding Lincolnshire roads, including the new GSX-S1000GX, the GSX-8R, and the V-Strom 800RE, as well as the third generation Hayabusa. Those interested in the latest V-Strom 800DE and V-Strom 1050DE can enjoy off-road test rides in the SR75 Suzuki V-Strom Experience Zone.

Suzuki GB marketing manager Jak Tyrrell commented, Were a little over a month away from Suzuki Live and its set to be the biggest one yet. While there will be plenty of track sessions for those taking part, theres going to be even more to see and do away from the circuit action, starting with the two anniversary display areas.

25 years is a huge milestone for two motorcycling stalwarts: the SV has provided fun, affordable motorcycling for the masses since 1999, has been the first big bike of so many riders, and still fills racing grids at club level. And, still, a quarter of a century later, nothing comes close to a Hayabusa. Its very easy to overuse words like icon or legend, but that is what the Hayabusa is.

Suzuki Live takes place on 22-23 June at Cadwell Park. Weekend tickets cost 15 and include access to the whole paddock area, plus free camping.

    <title>V-Strom 800RE Tour Joins Suzuki Line-Up</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/v-strom-800re-tour-joins-suzuki-line-up</link>
    <description>
Suzuki has added a V-Strom 800RE Tour to its lineup, which comes with 112 litres of aluminium luggage and a saving of 706.94.

Buyers can choose from either silver or black three-piece luggage, comprising a top box and panniers, and with an OTR price of 11,199, customers will save 706.94 over equipping the standard V-Strom 800RE with the individual accessories.

Available in blue, matt steel green, or black, the V-Strom 800RE Tour expands Suzukis V-Strom 800 range to four models, all of which use the firms new 776cc parallel twin engine with its 270-degree crankshaft design, delivering an abundance of smooth low-down drive and midrange thrust.

The 800RE models come with 19 and 17 cast aluminium wheels and Nissin radial calipers. Aluminium, rubber-covered footpegs are set 14mm further rearward and 7mm higher than the V-Strom 800DE, and aluminium tapered handlebars are 13mm lower and 23mm further forwards. Theyre also 15mm narrower. A taller and wider screen offers more weather and wind protection on longer rides. Like the DE, suspension comes courtesy of Showa, but with a focus on superior on-road performance there is 150mm of travel front and rear.

A bi-directional quickshifter comes as standard, and there are three selectable power modes and three choices of traction control settings, which can also be switched off. All the information is displayed via a colour TFT dash, nestled behind a large, wind-cheating screen.

    <title>New Suzuki GSX-8R pricing announced</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/new-suzuki-gsx-8r-pricing-announced</link>
    <description>
Fresh from its reveal at Eicma in Milan, Italy, earlier this month, Suzuki has announced UK pricing of the new GSX-8R: the new middleweight sportsbike will come with an OTR price of 8,899 when it arrives in dealerships in February.

The GSX-8R uses Suzukis new 776cc parallel twin engine, with its 270 crankshaft providing a V-twin-esque feel and soundtrack. Thanks to its long stroke design it produces an abundance of torque throughout the rev range, peaking at 78 Nm at 6800rpm. Peak power is 82.9PS at 8,500rpm.

While the main chassis is shared with the GSX-8S, suspension comes from Showa, and there are lower handlebars to provide a sportier riding position, with riders tucked behind the new, GSX-R-inspired full fairing.

As standard there is a bi-directional quickshifter, three power modes and three selectable traction control modes, with all information displayed via a 5 colour TFT screen.

    <title>New Suzuki GSX-S1000GX and GSX-8R revealed at EICMA</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/new-suzuki-gsx-s1000gx-and-gsx-8r-revealed-at-eicma</link>
    <description>
Suzuki has pulled the covers off two more new models for 2024, with the reveal of a new GSX-S1000GX crossover and GSX-8R middleweight sportsbike today at Eicma, in Milan, Italy.

With the GSX-S1000GX Suzuki steps into a new segment for the first time, offering a new sports crossover machine with a comprehensive suite of electronics.

Electronic suspension from Showa tops a spec sheet that also includes IMU-governed ABS and other braking systems, anti-wheelie, a new Roll Torque Control system, traction control, cruise control, selectable power modes, a bi-directional quickshifter and smartphone connectivity, accessed via a 6.5 colour TFT screen.

A 999cc inline four-cylinder delivers an abundance of power and torque throughout the rev range, peaking at 152PS and 106 Nm.

With an OTR price of 14,499, first customers can have their bikes by Christmas.

Also revealed, the new GSX-8R is the fourth new model to be launched on Suzukis new 776cc parallel twin platform, which features a DOHC and 270 crankshaft design and delivers punchy drive throughout the rev range.

New Showa suspension provides more support and increased damping force over the GSX-8S to account for the increased from weight bias and delivers a controlled, sporty ride.

Lower handlebars also contribute to a sportier riding position, with more of the riders weight over the front end.

The package is wrapped in new, angular, GSX-R-inspired bodywork.

There are selectable power modes, traction control, and a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, with all information displayed on a 5 colour TFT dash.

        GSX-S1000GX

With a design and product concept of the ultimate sports crossover, the GSX-S1000GX is set to become the benchmark in the category, as Suzuki moves into the crossover sector of the market for the first time.

It boasts Suzukis most sophisticated electronics package to date, with a number of new and innovative systems enabled by a six-axis Bosch IMU and electronic suspension from Showa.

The GSX-S1000GX is the first Suzuki to adopt Suzuki Advanced Electronic Suspension (SAES). The GX gets 150mm front and rear suspension travel to create an upright riding position, broadening the riders field of view and providing all-day riding comfort. The longer suspension travel also helps the GX smooth out bumps when riding over uneven surfaces.

There are four selectable modes of SAES: hard, medium, soft, and a customisable user setting which offers +/- three increments on the selected base setting of hard, medium, or soft.

Further helping smooth out those bumps and undulations is Suzuki Road Adaptive Stabilisation (SRAS). An original Suzuki system, in use for the first time on the new GX, it detects uneven road surfaces based on input from the IMU and wheel speed sensors, and, if required, triggers the Suzuki Floating Ride Control (SFRC) to help smooth out the ride. As part of the SFRC it also adjusts the electronic throttle valve settings to deliver softer, more controllable throttle response.

The rear suspensions spring preload settings are also electronically controlled, making it easy for a rider to use a handlebar switch to quickly choose between auto or one of the four available modes they find best suited to their immediate needs or preferences.

Riders can select between single rider, single rider plus luggage, or tandem (with or without luggage). In addition, the preload setting for auto mode can be adjusted by +/- three increments and the three manual modes can be adjusted by +/- four increments to match the riders needs more finely.

The GSX-S1000GX also uses an alpha version of the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector. SDMS- provides three riding modes: active, basic, comfort. Those three integrated riding modes control power output characteristics, as well as the level of traction control, which, on the GX, is integrated with Lift Limiter (anti-wheelie) and Roll Torque Control, and electronic suspension settings. Riders can opt to use the default settings of many of those systems or customise them to match their needs or preferences more closely. There are seven selectable modes of traction control integrated with Roll Torque Control and Lift Limiter and three selectable throttle maps.

Making its debut on the GX is Suzukis new Roll Torque Control. Based on data received from the IMU and wheel speed sensors, this new system calculates the bikes lean angle and speed to predetermine what level of power output and acceleration is optimal at that time, for example, when exciting a corner. It then reduces torque output before the motorcycle exceeds the amount of power the system deems necessary to clear the corner effectively. One key benefit of this system is a smooth operation and uninterrupted drive. With regular traction control the system is reactive, cutting in when rear wheel slip is detected. This can create a jerkiness or on and off feeling as the power comes in and out. It can also cause the rear suspension to compress and rebound. This is reduced significantly with the introduction of Roll Torque Control, as the torque ceiling is set, and then raised as the bike exits the corner and as speed increases and lean angle decreases. It is an extra layer of pre-emptive protection that operates silently in the background, with its settings determined by the level of traction control selected.

Completing the GXs comprehensive suite of electronics is a ride-by-wire throttle, bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control updated on the GX to allow the system to continue operating when the rider changes gear lean angle-sensitive ABS, Slope Dependent Control, which prevents rear wheel lift when braking downhill, easy start, and low RPM assist.

Monitoring all of the GSX-S1000GXs electronic systems is done via a 6.5-inch colour TFT screen, which also offers smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to access maps, view contacts and make and receive phone calls, see their calendar, and play music. All this is done via the free Suzuki mySPIN app. A USB socket in the side of the instrument cluster makes for easy phone charging.

Powering the new GSX-S1000GX is Suzukis creamy smooth, 999cc, inline four-cylinder, superbike-derived engine. Known for its abundance of lowdown and midrange power, it produces 152PS at 11,000rpm and 106 Nm of torque at 9,250rpm.

That engine is housed in a twin spar, aluminium frame mated to a race-proven aluminium swingarm from the GSX-R range and a lightweight subframe.

All of that is wrapped in new, aggressive bodywork, with full LED lighting front and rear. Hand guards and a spacious luggage rack add extra practicality. Luggage capacity can be increased with genuine accessory 36-litre panniers.

With an OTR price of 14,499, the GSX-S1000GX is available to order now, with first customers able to take delivery in time for Christmas. It will come in Suzukis trademark Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black and a new Pearl Matt Shadow Green

        GSX-8R

Immediately highlighting the R element of the new GSX-8R is its full fairing, wind tunnel-tested to increase aerodynamic performance and provide weather protection for the rider. Bold 8R logos adorn the side panels, while fairing-mounted mirrors also aid in reducing drag.

Perched in the middle of the angular face is the recognisably GSX series stacked LED headlight, topped by an LED position light. The rear combination light is also full LED, as are the indicators.

At the heart of the new GSX-8R is the 776cc parallel twin engine which it shares with the GSX-8S with its long stroke and 270 crankshaft design providing an abundance of low-down torque, usability, and flexibility, while a free-revving nature comes from a DOHC and four valves per cylinder. Peak torque is 78 Nm, delivered at 6800rpm, with peak power of 82.9PS coming at 8500rpm.

The 270 crankshaft also provides a power delivery, character, and rumble reminiscent of Suzukis much-lauded V-twin ranges, while a patented cross balancer design ensures a smoothness, as well as aiding in a compact, lightweight engine design.

A two-into-one exhaust system with dual-stage catalytic converter keeps the 8R conforming to Euro 5 emissions standards, and ends in a short, underslung silencer further enhancing the compact, slimline look.

All of that is housed in a steel frame engineered for direct handling characteristics. Those handling characteristics are further enhanced by low, forged aluminium handlebars that provide positive control and a sporty riding position, placing more of the riders weight over the front wheel. Bolted into the rear of the steel frame is a lightweight aluminium subframe and lightweight aluminium swingarm,

Dealing with the increased weight bias towards the front, Showa provides the suspension, with SFF-BP* (Separate Function Fork Big Piston) inverted forks and monoshock in the rear. Mounted radially to the forks are Nissin four-piston calipers, providing stopping power by biting 310mm discs. Tyres are Dunlop Roadsport 2s.

Aiding rideability, usability, and flexibility is a suite of electronic systems that includes a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, three selectable engine power modes, and three selectable traction control settings, plus the ability to disengage the system entirely. Theres also Suzukis low RPM assist and easy-start function.

The GSX-8Rs settings are easy to navigate via a single rocker switch on the left-hand handlebar, with the information displayed clearly on a colour 5 TFT screen.

Three colour options will be available when the GSX-8R arrives in dealerships in early February 2024: Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Matt Sword Silver and Metallic Matt Black No.2.

    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/get-the-right-winter-blues-with-2-9offer-from-suzuki</link>
    <description>
It might be getting colder but Suzuki is making it easier to get the right sort of winter blues by offering 2.9% APR finance on a number of models. Available over four years on both PCP and HP, the offer includes the Hayabusa including the new 25th anniversary edition both the V-Strom 1050 and V-Strom 1050DE, the GSX-S1000, and both the GSX-S1000GT and GT+.

Theres also 500 off the GSX-R125 and GSX-S125, plus 750 worth of free accessories available on the V-Strom 1050 and V-Strom 1050DE. All three offers run until 31 January 2024.

As a part of the 2.9% finance deal, the flagship, 25th anniversary special edition Hayabusa complete with its legendary 1340cc inline four-cylinder engine, sophisticated electronics package that includes power modes, cornering ABS, traction control, anti-wheelie, a bi-directional quickshifter, multiple engine braking settings, launch control, and cruise control, and striking bodywork can be ridden for 149 per month on a four-year PCP deal, with a 4,210.48 deposit.

Or, those looking to cover big miles on a big adventure bike can pick up the V-Strom 1050, with its similarly all encompassing suite of electronics, DR Big-inspired style, and punchy 1037cc V-twin motor, for 109 per month over the same period with a 2,711.30 deposit, while also equipping it with their choice of complementary extras.

New riders or those looking for the perfect tool to tackle city congestion and keep running costs to a minimum can also enjoy 500 off the GSX-S125 and GSX-R125.

Jonathan Martin, Suzuki GB head of motorcycles, said, The clocks have gone back, the nights have drawn in, and the temperatures have dropped, but its still a good time for riders to put a new Suzuki in the garage for less this winter. We understand that monthly payments remain key for our customers and by offering an incredibly low 2.9% through the winter we believe more customers will take advantage now and not wait until spring to ride away on a new Suzuki.

<title>Pricing and availability of 25th anniversary Hayabusa announced</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/pricing-and-availability-of-25th-anniversary-hayabusa-announced</link>
    <description>
Suzuki has announced that the special edition Hayabusa, launched to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the legendary hyperbike, is available in dealerships now with an OTR price of 18,599, and will also be available on 2.9% APR finance on PCP or HP.

The anniversary edition, launched to celebrate a quarter of a century of an icon after the first generation Hayabusa changed the game in 1999, comes in a head-turning glass blaze orange and glass sparkle black, and with a list of standout features including: special anniversary logo on the fuel tank and laser-etched into the twin exhaust mufflers, gold-anodised brake disc carriers and drive chain adjusters, raised Suzuki lettering on the fuel tank, a standard-fit single seat cowl in addition to the pillion pad, and new gloss black trim.

Underneath, it packs the same torque-rich, 1340cc inline four-cylinder engine as the current third generation Hayabusa, which produces more cumulative power and torque than any of its predecessors. Thanks to a heavily redesigned engine for 2021 with new pistons, conrods, crankshaft and camshaft the latest iteration of the Hayabusa is the fastest-launching one yet.

Helping that cause is a comprehensive suite of electronics that features three launch control settings, 10 traction control modes, and three power modes, plus lean-angle sensitive ABS, three levels of engine brake settings, cruise control, hill hold, low RPM assist, and easy-start.

Launched in 1999 the original Hayabusa stunned the motorcycling world and gave birth to the hypersport category. Taking its name from the Japanese for Peregrine falcon famed for feasting on blackbirds it delivered unrivalled performance, was immediately recognisable thanks to its now-iconic silhouette, and went on to develop cult status.

The launch of the second generation Hayabusa in 2008 boosted capacity and power, while a mid-term update in 2013 added Brembo monobloc calipers and ABS. The third generation was launched in 2021, after 200,000 units had been sold worldwide.

Suzuki GB head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin, said, There arent many if any motorcycles that can boast the same sort of history, legacy, and standing that the Hayabusa does. Its not hyperbole to call it an icon, or game-changing, or legendary; it is all of those things. It really is in a class of one, and moving into its 25th year, customers can own a piece of history with this special edition, and to make it even easier to do so were pleased to be able to launch it with a low finance rate of 2.9% on PCP or HP.

    <title>New V-Strom 800RE joins V-Strom 800DE to enhance Suzuki’s adventure bike lineup</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/new-v-strom-800re-joins-v-strom-800de-to-enhance-suzukis-adventure-bike-lineup</link>
    <description>
Following the launch of its all-new V-Strom 800DE earlier this year, Suzuki has announced a new V-Strom 800RE that will further expand its adventure bike stable, ensuring the V-Strom range is truly ready for any terrain, any horizon, any adventure.

Born to roam, the V-Strom 800RE will provide a more road-focussed offering than its more off-road-ready sibling. With DE denoting the V-Strom 800DEs positioning as a dual explorer, the adoption of RE for the latest V-Strom 800 model highlights its abilities as the road explorer.

Arriving in November, the new V-Strom 800RE will come with an OTR price of 9,699.

At its heart, the new V-Strom 800RE uses the same new 776cc parallel twin engine as its stablemate, with its double overhead cam and 270 crankshaft design delivering a broad spread of torque throughout the rev range peaking at 78Nm at 6800rpm and a rumble and character more akin to Suzukis famed V-twins. Peak power is 84.3PS at 8500rpm.

It also uses the same steel main frame, engineered for a balance of straight-line stability and agile handling. The narrow steel tubes also help maximise fuel tank capacity, which comes in at 20 litres. However, the new V-Strom 800RE differs from its more rugged counterpart most notably by swapping 21 and 17 spoked wheels and tubed tyres for 19 and 17 cast aluminium wheels, wearing Dunlop tubeless tyres.

Like the V-Strom 800DE, high quality suspension is still provided by Showa, but with a focus on delivering superior on-road performance. 150mm of travel at the front and rear comes courtesy of preload-adjustable inverted front forks and a link-type monoshock adjustable for preload and rebound damping, delivering sure-footed roadholding and a plush ride for long days in the saddle. Stopping power comes from radially-mounted four piston Nissin calipers.

Further underlying the V-Strom 800REs prowess as the tool to explore all roads it comes with a seat height of 825mm, while aluminium, rubber-covered footpegs are set 14mm further rearward and 7mm higher than the V-Strom 800DE, and aluminium tapered handlebars are 13mm lower and 23mm further forwards. Theyre also 15mm narrower. A taller and wider screen offers more weather and wind protection on longer rides.

Nestled underneath the screen is a 5 colour TFT screen with dual display modes for day and nighttime riding. All the navigation of menus and features is done via a simple, easy-to-use rocker switch on the left-hand handlebar. Theres also a handy USB port located on the left-hand side.

Displayed on the bright, clear screen is all the information required by the rider, including the current setting selected from its three-mode traction control system which can also be switched off and the current power mode selected, from Active (the more sportier and direct throttle map), Basic (ideal for cruising or city riding), and Comfort (perfect for wet or cold conditions). There are also two ABS settings, providing differing levels of intervention.

A ride-by-wire throttle connection provides a natural feel and connection to the rear wheel, while a standard-fit bi-directional quickshifter allied to a slipper clutch makes gear changes slick and seamless. Theres also Suzukis low rpm assist and easy start function.

Sharing a similar DR Big-inspired look as the 800DE, complete with iconic beak and full LED lighting front and rear, the V-Strom 800RE will come in Pearl Vigor Blue, Metallic Matt Steel Green, and Glass Sparkle Black.

There will also be a full suite of genuine accessories available including a choice of three-piece aluminium or plastic luggage, heated grips, and a centre stand.

    <title>Suzuki launches Service Activated Warranty</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/suzuki-launches-service-activated-warranty</link>
    <description>
Suzuki has launched a new Service Activated Warranty, which extends a motorcycles warranty period after the initial three years through regular servicing at authorised Suzuki dealerships.

The Service Activated Warranty is offered once the motorcycle reaches the end of its manufacturer warranty period of three years, and is booked in for its next scheduled service within the Suzuki Dealer network. This warranty then stays in place until the next qualifying service. It is then simply renewed again, up to a maximum vehicle age of seven years or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The Service Activated Warranty is offered to customers completely free of charge.

All major components are covered, and should the machine be sold between services and within the seven-year qualifying period, the warranty will simply be transferred to the new owner.

The Service Activity Warranty can also be enjoyed by owners of secondhand machines, even if any original warranty has expired and if there is a gap in the service history. Providing the new owner has their motorcycle serviced at a Suzuki dealership and goes through a Suzuki Motorcycle Health Check in the first instance, it will benefit from a fresh, one-year warranty.

For these customers, the Service Activated Warranty will begin 30 days from the date the authorised Suzuki Dealer service has been completed.

Denis Houston, Director Aftersales at Suzuki GB, said, At Suzuki, customer experience and retention are paramount, the launch of Service Activated Warranty will certainly enhance this for the future, ensuring our customers get the best levels of service, fitment of genuine parts and avail of the expertise within our dealer network rather than going to a non-franchised repairer once their manufacturer warranty expires. <title> SUZUKI GSX-S1000GT ENDS 2022 AS TOP-SELLING SPORTS TOURER </title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/suzuki-gsx-s1000gt-ends-2022-as-top-selling-sports-tourer</link>
    <description>
A highly successful 2022 for the GSX-S1000GT saw it end the year as the top-selling sports tourer, despite only going on sale in April. The final figures for the year saw 781 bikes registered, with the forecast for more than 1,000 units to be sold before the end of March 2023, which would mark 12 months on sale.

Suzuki GB head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin, said, Of course, were delighted with the popularity and success of the GSX-S1000GT. It was launched to high praise in the autumn of 2021, and we were seeing a huge number of reservations and orders before the bike had even arrived in dealerships. Despite that, and though it presented challenges, we managed to keep up with demand and were on course to top 1,000 sales by the end of its first year on sale, which is a fantastic achievement and something were all pleased with and proud of.

The GSX-S1000GT is able to seamlessly blend sports and touring capabilities, thanks to the flexible, torque-laden inline-four cylinder engine producing 152PS peak power and 106Nm of peak torque, making it fantastic for motorway cruising as well as for those rev chasing sportier runs.

That sportier performance is also enhanced by a bi-directional quickshifter and slipper clutch to improve the speed and smoothness of changes. The GSX-S1000GT also comes with five traction control settings that can be used to dial in the desired level of interference, depending on the road and riding conditions. The same is also true for three selectable power modes, while cruise control makes long distance touring a doddle.

Displayed via a 6.5, full-colour TFT screen all of the key information for power modes, traction control and cruise control are easy to see thanks to day and night modes - plus smartphone connectivity for calls, messages, and navigation is available on the TFT screen.

2022s top-selling sports tourer also includes a twin-spar aluminium frame, superbike-derived swingarm, and fully-adjustable forks from KYB and a rebound and preload adjustable shock - while angular and aggressive bodywork creates a stylish look coupled with the benefits of extensive wind tunnel testing to optimise the fairings.

<description>Suzuki has announced pricing for its all-new GSX-8S, with the parallel twin-powered naked coming with an RRP of 7,999 when it arrives in the spring.

The new-from-the-ground-up GSX-8S has a long-stroke 776cc parallel twin engine at its heart, with a 270 crank, designed to deliver punchy torque and a flexible character, while four valves per cylinder and a double overhead cam enable a free-revving nature.

With the GSX-8S born to thrill, that engine is wrapped in an all-new frame, with a separate tubular steel subframe, aluminium swingarm, 43mm upside down front forks and rear shock from KYB, lightweight aluminium wheels, shod with 120 front and 180 rear Dunlops and wide, tapered, aluminium bars providing a blend of stable roadholding and agility and flickability. Enhancing the riding experience further is a full-colour TFT screen, which displays settings linked to the new machines bi-directional quickshifter, its three-mode traction control system which can be switched off and three selective power modes.

Styling is unmistakably GSX-S, and is angular and futuristic, while bright, light blue wheels and subframe on the pearl cosmic blue and pearl tech white versions are striking accents. <title>Pricing for All-New V-Strom 800DE Announced</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/pricing-for-all-new-v-strom-800de-announced</link>
    <description>Pricing for the most off-road ready V-Strom yet, the all-new V-Strom 800DE, has been announced at 10,499.

Powered by Suzukis new 776cc, long-stroke, DOHC, parallel twin with a 270 crank, the V-Strom 800DE is born to explore and is equipped with a host of electronic rider aids and chassis features designed to help it tackle the rough stuff, as well as ensure it remains capable and usable on the road, too.

Suzukis new powerplant delivers 84.3PS peak power at 8500rpm and 78Nm of peak torque at 6800rpm in the new V-Strom, though riders can choose their preferred power delivery thanks to three selectable engine maps, controlled by a rocker switch on the left handlebar and displayed on a 5-inch colour TFT screen.

Also displayed on the dash in the selected traction control mode, with three on-road modes available to choose from and a G mode, for use off-road, that allows more wheelspin, which is suppressed only enough to help prevent excessive slip, so power continues to be delivered to the rear wheel with minimum interruption. It can also be disengaged completely.

There are also two ABS settings, providing greater or lesser intervention, plus there is the ability to disengage the rear ABS for improved confidence and control off-road, and a bi-directional quickshifter for seamless gear changes.

A new steel frame with bolt-on subframe and aluminium swingarm is suspended by fully-adjustable Showa components providing 220mm of travel and ground clearance. That ground clearance also comes courtesy of 21 and 17-inch wire-spoked wheels, front and back, running tubed Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres. Wide aluminium bars and tough steel footpegs are designed to provide greater control when stood up off-road.

All this is wrapped in unmistakable a new, sharper, taughter incarnation of V-Strom stylinge, complete with a DR-Z-esque beak, and comes in the classic yellow that pays homage to Suzukis off-road racing heritage. The V-Strom 800DE is also available in a striking matt grey, with yellow accents, and subtle black, with blue.

An ultra-clean Suzuki Eco Performance lpha engine sits at the heart of the new Burgman Street 125EX an air-cooled, single-cylinder powerplant currently powering over five million Suzukis worldwide and delivers an impressive 148.67mpg, while producing only 44g/km of CO2 emissions. Though gentle on the wallet and the environment, it still delivers punchy performance with peak power 8.6PS and peak torque 10Nm delivered low in the rev range, at 6,500rpm and 5,500rpm respectively.

<title>New colours available for Hayabusa, SV650, and SV650X</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/new-colours-available-for-hayabusa-sv650-and-sv650x</link>
    <description>
New colour schemes are now available on Suzukis Hayabusa and both the SV650 and SV650X; legendary machines in the firms range for different reasons.

The third generation Hayabusa comes in a new, sleek, dark grey, offset by striking red accents. A revised white edition features bolder blue detailing, while an all-black variant provides the stealth option, save for the glinting chrome trim.

As well as updates to the iconic hyperbike, the original middleweight naked, the SV650, gets a trio of updated colourways for 2023.

Like the Hayabusa, an equally sleek grey and black model uses a stunning grey trellis frame, with a splash of colour from red wheels. Using a bronze frame and wheels are a dark blue model and a black version.

The SV650X will come in a new metallic silver for 2023.

All models are available in dealerships now, the Hayabusa with an RRP of 16,999, while the SV costs 6,999 and the SV650X 7,399.

The latest Hayabusa, launched last year, might adopt sharper styling but it remains unmistakably Hayabusa. Underneath the bodywork is a revised chassis and an updated version of the 1340cc inline four-cylinder that produces more cumulative power and torque than its predecessor. A comprehensive suite of electronics the settings for which are displayed on a neat TFT dash nestled between analogue dials in homage to the original includes multiple power modes, a bi-directional quickshifter, lean angle-sensitive ABS, hill hod, 10 modes of traction control, three modes of launch control, and cruise control.

The SV650, first launched in 1997, encapsulates affordable motorcycling, equally adept at commuting as it is Sunday blasts. It uses the proven 645cc V-twin, with a user-friendly nature for newer riders but packing enough of a punch to excite experienced motorcyclists.

Both bikes are included on Suzukis Buying Power campaign, available with 2.9% APR representative over three years, on both PCP or Hire Purchase and with no deposit required.

    <title>TWO NEW SUZUKI SCOOTERS</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/two-new-suzuki-scooters</link>
    <description>
        TWO NEW SCOOTERS TO STRENGTHEN
SUZUKI SMALL CAPACITY RANGE

Suzuki has announced two new scooters that will strengthen its small capacity range, with Address 125 and Avenis 125 on sale from October 2022.

Curves, a rounded - full LED - headlight, and plush seat add a retro flair to the new Address styling, finished with chrome-plated accents. The Address oozes style. The retro look extends to a large analogue speedometer, while modern convenience comes courtesy of a digital display, showcasing additional information, including the Suzuki Eco Drive Illumination which helps encourage and achieve economical riding, with the Address 125 capable of achieving 148.6mpg.

Not only is the new, 124cc single-cylinder engine efficient and economical, thanks to Suzukis Eco Performance (SEP) technology which optimises and balances fuel economy and performance, it delivers strong torque in the low-mid rpm ranges for quick acceleration. Peak torque is 10Nm at 5,500 rpm, with peak power 8.7PS at 6,750rpm.

Spacious under-seat storage with dual utility hooks plus an upfront storage pocket - housing a handy USB socket bring the practicality, while comfort comes from a flat, well-padded seat and broad footboards.

In addition to the Address 125 a new Avenis 125 will further expand Suzukis scooter range and provide a sportier offering to its Address 125 stablemate.

Wrapped around the same punchy-yet-efficient single cylinder engine is sharp, angular bodywork. Slightly longer, wider, and taller than the Address, the Avenis stands out in a crowd with striking road presence, with its aggressive form, LED headlights and taillights and two-tone graphics.

A full LCD display keeps the rider informed, and, like the Address, features the Suzuki Eco Drive Indicator, to help riders extract maximum efficiency and achieve an impressive 148.6mpg. In addition to under-seat storage and a storage pocket, there are also handy storage compartments upfront.

Both the Address 125 and Avenis 125 will be on sale in October.

<title>Akrapovic silencers form Performance accessory pack for Suzuki Hayabusa</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/akrapovic-silencers-form-performance-accessory-pack-for-suzuki-hayabusa</link>
<description>Suzuki has launched a new Performance accessory pack for its Hayabusa hypersport machine, which comes with an RRP of 2,599, representing a saving of 1,112 over the cost of the individual items.

The standout accessory in the kit is a pair of titanium Akrapovi silencers, which save a total of 4kg and boost power by 2kW, as well as enhancing the soundtrack. Capped with a carbon fibre tip and featuring a carbon fibre heat shield, the silencers are finished with a classy, laser-etched Akrapovi and Hayabusa logos.

Billet aluminium brake and clutch levers replace the original items, with extra style coming from a colour-coded pillion seat cowl, an accessory seat with Hayabusa logo and red stitching, plus a tank pad also adorned with a Hayabusa logo in a choice of gold or red, to suit the bikes colour.

The Performance accessory pack can be fitted at the time of purchase, meaning it can also be incorporated into any finance deal, spreading the cost monthly, and benefits from the same three-year-warranty.

With an RRP of 16,499, the third generation Hayabusa uses a heavily redesigned engine including new pistons, conrods, crankshaft, and camshaft specifically aimed at producing enhanced performance in the lower to mid rev ranges, making it the fastest-launching Hayabusa yet with more cumulative torque than its predecessor.

It gets Suzukis most advanced suite of electronics ever, with 10 lean angle-sensitive traction control modes, lean angle-sensitive ABS, three power modes, a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control and a speed limiter, and three stages of launch control, all controlled via easy-to-use switchgear and managed through a neat colour TFT display, nestled between two analogue dials reminiscent of the original Hayabusas clocks.

Design cues from the original also extend to the bodywork, which is sharper and more angular but nonetheless immediately recognisable as Hayabusa

<title>‘Busa’s back – Suzuki reveals new Hayabusa for 2021</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/busas-backsuzuki-reveals-new-hayabusa-for-2021</link>
<description>Suzuki has announced details of its latest generation Hayabusa, with the new and hotly-anticipated third iteration of the legendary hyperbike coming with over 550 new parts, including:

Iconic and uniquely individual Hayabusa aerodynamic silhouette and styling, but with redesigned wind-cheating bodywork that remains faithful to the Hayabusas unmistakable shape while adding sharper lines and classy details.
A heavily redesigned engine including new pistons, conrods, crankshaft, and camshaft specifically aimed at producing enhanced performance in the lower to mid rev ranges making it the fastest-launching Hayabusa yet.
A comprehensive suite of electronics that includes IMU-governed ABS and traction control, cruise control, launch control, bi-directional quickshifter, engine brake control, three power modes, plus three preset rider modes and three user-defined modes.
A revised chassis, with a new subframe, new brakes, and new suspension settings.

History

Launched in 1999, the Hayabusa stunned the motorcycling world and gave birth to the hypersport category. Taking its name from the Japanese for Peregrine falcon famed for feasting on blackbirds it delivered unrivalled performance, was immediately recognisable thanks to its now-iconic silhouette, and went on to develop cult status. Its monster engine enabled a smooth, turbine-like power delivery and an eye-widening top-end rush, but also gave it a flexibility and usability rivals could only dream of, while wind tunnel-designed bodywork allowed it to slip through the air effortlessly.

The launch of the second generation Hayabusa in 2008 boosted capacity and power, while a mid-term update in 2013 added Brembo monobloc calipers and ABS, updates that brought the machine firmly into the 21st century, yet remained faithful to the unique styling that has earned the Hayabusa its icon status.

Nearly 200,000 units later a third generation takes all that was right with the genre-defining hyperbike, but leverages the latest technologies to provide greater control and improved comfort to maintain its position as the ultimate sports bike.

Design

After the launch of the original in 1999, the Hayabusas striking aerodynamic silhouette has become instantly recognisable; nothing looks quite like a Hayabusa.

During the design of the third generation machine the concept of the refined beast made sure that Suzuki designers did not bring about wholesale changes, but instead made sure the latest iteration was still immediately identifiable as a Hayabusa. And 21 years on, still nothing looks quite like a Hayabusa.

Still low, long, and wide, the new generation has faithfully inherited the DNA of its predecessors, but with sharper lines and a tough, modern look that oozes refinement, class, and ultimate performance. It has been brought firmly into the present and future-proofed for the road ahead.

The overall result is a look of higher quality and greater luxury fused with the daunting image of the fierce bird of prey from which it takes its name.

The side profile looks every inch Hayabusa, but the design features straighter, sharper lines, from the new mirror design to the famous seat hump. A fresh face comes from new vertically stacked LED headlights, nestled between the new angular air intakes. New position lights flanking the scoops double up as integrated turn signals.

Great effort was also devoted to designing the straight-edged exhaust and mufflers, that sweep up towards the tail (which itself features new LED rear combination lights) to create a mass-forward look.

Much like the design of the Hayabusas bodywork, the iconic machines clocks are just as much a part of the bikes identity. And much like the bodywork, they too have been redesigned to embrace modern technology in the form of a colour TFT screen while retaining the elements that standout as Hayabusa: the two large dials that flank the new TFT display.

The large analog tachometer and speedometer gain a fresh, more attractive appearance. Features include bigger, bolder numbering that improves legibility, and raised scale markings around the periphery of each meter use LED lighting to provide a clearer view and faster recognition.

The colour TFT screen displays a plethora of information readouts from the new Hayabusas suite of electronics (described in full, below) including the current SDMS- settings or an active data display that shows lean angle (with peak-hold function), front and rear brake pressure, rate of forward/reverse acceleration and the current accelerator position. The panel also shows clock, gear position, odometer, dual trip meter, ambient temperature, instant fuel consumption, riding range, trip time, average fuel consumption, and voltmeter displays. LEDs located in the corners above and below the LCD include the neutral indicator light, turn-signal indicator lights, high-beam indicator light, low oil pressure warning light, traction control indicator, malfunction indicator lamp, master warning indicator, and ABS indicator. There is also an LED engine coolant temperature indicator light in the upper right corner of the engine coolant temperature gauge and fuel indicator light in the upper left corner of the fuel meter gauge. An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the instrument clusters brightness level based on surrounding conditions, or the rider can also opt to make manual adjustments.

Engine

During the development of the new Hayabusa many prototypes were evaluated, with many featuring different engine configurations. Engine designer Naoki Mizoguchi explained, We considered a variety of engine configurations before arriving at the final design. Experimentation included building prototypes with larger displacement engines, turbocharged versions, and others with six cylinders. In the end we came to the conclusion that the original engine package achieved the best overall balance. We also came to the conclusion that not changing the basic layout was key to retaining the Hayabusas distinct identity. So we applied the best of its proven qualities when we sat down to set the latest engine design. Our goal was to create a better engine while building on the same proven layout.

As a result of Mizoguchi and the engineers work, the 1340cc, inline-four cylinder engine has undergone extensive reworking, with the aim of boosting performance and improving power and torque in the low and mid-range RPM. The result especially when allied to new performance-enhancing electronics is the fastest-launching Hayabusa yet as well as a more rideable and flexible engine for everyday use, plus added durability and reliability, also.

While the new Hayabusa remains electronically limited to 299km/h (186mph), it outpaces its predecessors off the mark thanks to a flatter torque curve that fills in a flat spot identified in earlier iterations in the lower rev ranges.

That increase in performance, plus the added durability, comes from a number of new or redesigned components. The new Hayabusa uses new, lighter pistons, more rigid and lighter conrods, new camshaft with revised cam profiles to reduce valve lift overlap and new cam chain tensioner, revised crankshaft and crankcases, new gearshift stopper, cam, and cam plate, and gears with revised bearing widths to improve shift feeling, new slipper clutch assembly, and new magneto.

Changes to the combustion chamber promotes faster and more efficient burning of the fuel-air mixture. Further machining on the combustion chamber around the intake valve expands the valve curtain area and improves the flow coefficient by 5% as the valve begins to open and reaches 5mm in lift height.

A new ride-by-wire electronic throttle system works with the new Hayabusas variety of electronic control systems, while also providing a light, natural response with linear control, similar to that of conventional throttle operation. In conjunction with the introduction of this new throttle system, the size of the tapered throttle bodies has changed from 44mm to 43mm, but the overall intake pipe length, (including the intake pipe, throttle body, and funnel), is extended by 12mm over the previous intake system. This contributes to producing greater power output at low and mid-range engine speeds.

Theres also a new side feed fuel injector that places the secondary injector at an angle on the side of the intake funnel. Its spray strikes a reflecting plate in the funnel and creates a fine mist that enters the combustion chamber. The result is again an increase in power and torque output at lower engine speeds.

New air intakes reduce pressure loss and increase flow into a larger airbox, which ups capacity from 10.3 to 11.5 litres, and while retaining the bold, twin muffler design the Hayabusa is known for, a new exhaust system saves over 2kg over the previous system, as a new pipe connecting cylinders one and four helps delivery more bottom end torque. A new two-stage catalytic converter replaces the previous single-stage design to help meet Euro5 emissions standards.

Electronics

A major leap forward from the second to the third generation Hayabusa comes from a new, comprehensive suite of electronics aimed at improving everything from performance to rider comfort, and safety.

Encompassed within the latest version of Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) is the below:

Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-) featuring a selection of three factory preset and three user definable modes, combining:
Motion Track Traction Control System (10 modes plus off)
Power Mode Selector (three modes)
Bi-directional Quick Shift System (two modes plus off)
Anti-lift Control System (10 modes plus off)
Engine Brake Control System (three modes plus off)
Active Speed Limiter
Launch Control System (three modes)
Emergency Stop Signal
Suzuki Easy Start System
Low RPM Assist
Cruise Control System
Combined Brake System
Motion Track Brake System
Slope Dependent Control System
Hill Hold Control System
Within SDMS- riders have the ability to choose from one of three power modes, with full-power mode one followed by a softer mode two that reduces initial power but still builds to the same peak power, while mode three has a reduced maximum power output.

There are also 10 modes of Motion Track Traction Control from an IMU-controlled system that uses the same technology as Suzukis world championship-winning MotoGP machine and GSX-R1000R. The lean angle-sensitive system takes readings from the IMU, front and rear wheel speed sensors, crank position sensor, throttle position sensor, and gear position sensor to detect a loss of traction before the ECU controls output to the throttle valve, ignition coil, spark plugs, and fuel injectors to limit power. The system can also be turned off.

A further 10 modes of Anti-lift Control help prevent the front wheel from lifting during hard acceleration. The higher the setting the greater amount of control supplied. It, too, can be disabled.

A race-derived bi-directional quickshifter allows riders to shift up with the throttle wide open and without operating the clutch, while the need to blip the throttle on downshifts is also eradicated. Two modes mean riders can choose from a more race and performance orientated response, or a mode that responds to a lighter touch.

To further personalise the Hayabusas advanced electronic systems riders can manage the effective strength of the engine braking to match their preference. There are three additional settings to choose from, as well as the default off, whereby the higher the setting the more the effect of the engine braking is suppressed.

As part of SDMS- come three factory preset rider modes Active, Basic, and Comfort with each using a combination of allotted settings for the above systems. Active uses the full power engine map, with traction control and anti-lift set to one out of 10 and the quickshifter on its raciest setting. Basic uses the same quickshifter setting but the softer throttle response with traction control and anti-lift set in the middle, at mode five of 10. Comfort sees those upped to 10, with the engine mapping set to its softest setting with reduced peak power, and the softer quickshifter setting. All three modes use the default engine brake control system setting.

However, three user-defined settings allow riders to tailor the settings to their own preferences and needs based on their experience or the riding conditions.

The new Hayabusas electronics suite is further bolstered by a launch control system with three modes that allow riders to limit engine RPM to 4,000, 6,000, or 8,000 RPM before launching, depending on their confidence or experience.

Cruise control allows riders to set their desired speed on longer journeys. With the system activated via a button on the right hand switchgear and the speed set and adjusted using buttons on the left, riders can release the twist grip and continue onwards at their preferred speed. The result is reduced fatigue and increased comfort. The system can be overridden with a touch of the brakes or by reopening the throttle. Owners can also set their preferred speed via a new speed limiter function, ensuring the motorcycle will not exceed that speed during operation. However, it too can be overridden by a quick twist of the throttle to allow riders to make overtakes or escape danger.

An intelligent braking system sees the third generation Hayabusa equipped with lean angle-sensitive ABS, helping riders track the intended line even when the brakes are applied mid-corner, plus linked brakes mean pressure is automatically applied to the rear brake when the front brake lever is operated, improving stopping performance.

The system also identifies when the brakes are being applied on a descent, with the ABS unit using input from the IMU to monitor the bikes posture, before optimising front brake pressure to prevent rear wheel lift. The IMU also enables the new Hayabusas hill hold function, which automatically engages the rear brake for 30 seconds once the motorcycle comes to a stop facing uphill, even if the rider releases the brake lever or pedal. This helps ensure a smoother restart free of worries that the bike will roll backward.

Suzukis easy start system and low RPM assist functions also feature, meaning the engine fires with one brush of the starter button and the engine speed is automatically raised as the clutch lever is released to aid slow speed control and prevent stalling. A new emergency stop signal flashes the turn indicator lights when the brakes are suddenly and sharply applied to warn traffic in the immediate vicinity.

Chassis

Hayabusa has always been known for its remarkable combination of high-speed stability and its planted feel alongside surprising agility and nimbleness. As a result, Suzuki engineers focussed on evolving the existing chassis setup to build on the proven base, as opposed to ringing the changes unnecessarily.

The tried and tested twin-spar aluminium frame uses extruded aluminium sections which lend the right amount of suppleness and strength, achieving a better overall balance. A new subframe reduces weight by 700g.

A new setup of the fully adjustable front and rear suspension units help improve the bikes stability at speed as well as its ability to turn, and also deliver improved grip from the specially-designed Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tyres.

Mounted to new seven-spoke wheels are bigger 320mm discs up front, with improved stopping power also coming from Brembo Stylema calipers.

Longer journeys on the new Hayabusa are not only made easier thanks to the extensive electronics package, but changes to the bikes ergonomics see the bars brought closer to the rider by 12mm, aiding rider comfort while ensuring the rider remains directly connected to the front wheel.

    <title>Suzuki wins 2020 MotoGP world championship</title>
    <link>https://www.kcsuperbikes.co.uk/suzuki/news-and-events/suzuki-wins-2020-motogp-world-championship</link>
<description>Suzuki has won the 2020 MotoGP world championship, with Joan Mir crowned champion after finishing seventh at the penultimate round of the season at Valencia.

Mir becomes the sixth rider to win the biggest prize in motorcycle racing with Suzuki, after Britains Barry Sheene first took the premier class world title for the Japanese manufacturer in 1976.

The 23-year-old Spaniard is in only his second season in MotoGP, after joining Suzuki for the 2019 season. He showed impressive pace in his rookie year, but allied to his unwavering consistency in 2020 despite a rocky start that saw two crashes in three races that pace saw him finish on the podium seven times in nine races on his way to the title.

Victory last weekend gave him a 37-point championship lead going into the penultimate round of the year, and despite qualifying in 12th the youngster kept his composure to pick up a number of places to score enough points to be crowned champion, finishing seventh.

Suzuki, the smallest of the Japanese factories in MotoGP, has consistently punched above its weight in Grand Prix racing. The brand took back-to-back titles with Sheene in 1976 and 1977, with the Briton winning 11 races across both seasons. Two more back-to-back titles followed in 1981 and 1982, with Italians Marco Lucchinelli and Franco Uncini winning a championship each.

Charismatic American Kevin Schwantz lifted the gong in 1993, before his compatriot Kenny Roberts Jr. was crowned champion in 2000, Suzukis last premier class title.

Suzuki took a sabbatical from Grand Prix racing after the 2011 season, returning with an all-new machine in 2015. Just six seasons later and in a year that marks the 100th anniversary of Suzuki Motor Corporation Joan Mir joins an exclusive list of riders to have taken motorcyclings biggest prize.

Joan Mir, World Champion: it sounds amazing. Its really hard to find the words at the moment, but I must say thank you to so many people; to Suzuki for this opportunity, Im so happy to give them a title. To be the person who brings them another crown after 20 years is an unbelievable feeling and a true honour.

The entire team did an incredible job, and Im just so overjoyed with this championship win. Ive come a long way since being a child with hardly any money to go racing, and my family are to thank for this. I worked very hard to get to the top and this reward is amazing. Todays race wasnt easy, but I got the result I needed and I hope to have a great end in Portimao. Its time to celebrate but we must do it responsibly.

Team Suzuki Ecstar the official factory racing team of Suzuki Motor Corporation also wrapped up MotoGPs team championship, thanks to the efforts of Mir and his teammate, Alex Rins. Despite suffering a serious shoulder injury at the beginning of the season, Rins, too has contributed to the teams points haul with wins and podiums, and could yet finish second in the rider championship standings after the final round in Portugal next weekend.

Toshihiro Suzuki, president of Suzuki Motor Corporation, said, I would like to congratulate and express my gratitude to Team Suzuki Ecstar and Joan Mir for winning the MotoGP world championship in such an unprecedented and tough season due to the Covid-19 situation in 2020. Also to Alex Rins, who has put together an extraordinary championship, being still in the fight for second place.

This is Suzukis 100th anniversary and in this memorable year, we won the MotoGP championship, which is the worlds highest series of motorcycle racing. I would like to thank all the customers, fans, and dealers who always encouraged and supported Suzuki.

Since returning to the MotoGP, I am very proud of the team that has overcome various hardships, made steady progress year by year, and finally became the champion.
